    Description

    Beautiful double heart fossil ammonite candy dish .
    The specimen comes from Morocco. Specifically, where The Atlas Mountains meets the northern fringe of The Sahara Desert. The estimated age of these deposits is 350 - 420 MILLION YEARS OLD !!!!  The black matrix is marble. Ammonite  is the extinct ancestor of today's chambered nautilus.
    The dish also contains many orthoceras fossils.
    The center ammonites have good detail. The chambers ( camerae)  are readily visible .
