Description:
A Superb very nearly complete
Pleuroceras spinatum approx 6 x 5 x 2.1 cm covered with a shiny metallic looking “deep bronze gold” la
yer of Pyrite.
Under the light, you can see some sparkles of copper color.
The Ammonite shell with a whorl section, bearing radial ribs are so well preserved and vividly immaculate.  Some of the original matrix that encompasses the ammonite is also included.
Ammonites
are an extinct group of marine animals. Their closest living relative is probably not the modern Nautilus, whom they resemble, but rather the Subclass Coleoidea (octopus, squid, and cuttlefish). Ammonites first appeared in the Late Silurian to Early Devonian (~400 million years ago) and became extinct at the close of the Cretaceous along with the dinosaurs
(65 million years ago).
