Large, Outstanding Specimen of a Highly Clustered and Layered Plate of Orthoceras Fossils in a Sea-Bed Matrix. Comes with the Display Stand.
Orthoceras (straight horn) can be found in marine limestone of the Baltic Region and Sweden from the middle of the Ordovician period of the Paleozoic Era, approximately 465 million years ago. It is of a genus of extinct Nautiloid Cephalopod.
Approximate dimensions are 21” in height x 13-1/2 inches across at the widest point. Weight is 20 lbs 4 oz., 9100 grams.
