Beautiful South Dakota Pierre Shale Ammonite w/ some host matrix still attached

Description

Here is a nice larger Pierre Shale ammonite from South Dakota.  This shell is not inflated, but had been crushed during deposition.  There is still some host rock (nodule) attached to the back side of the shell.  Still a cool piece that was deposited during the time of the dinosaurs.
