Antique Chinese Opera Doll 11 Inches Wood Composition Elaborate Costume Signed

Description

Here is an original antique Chinese opera doll in an elaborate silk embroidered costume. He is 11 inches tall and has a wood or composition head and hands, wood feet and shoes and a molded painted paper hat.
He is wearing a red tunic embroidered with a bull or dragon on the front and floral and abstract designs as well.
There are also embroidered dragons on both sleeves, some thread is loose on the right arm on the back.
The figure is in excellent condition with one tiny bit of paint loss on his forehead at the hairline (see photo), his wood belt is split in the front (see photos) and there is some fading to the front of the tunic, just not as vibrant as the back. We do not know his age or exact origin, there are Chinese characters on his neck, but we do not read Chinese so do not know what they say.
We can see no other marks.
