Antique Chinese Asian Boy & Girl Doll Composition Paper Mache Dolls 5” Silk Embr

These two rare Chinese doll are from the '30s or 40’s
The man and woman are just over 5” inch and are Chinese Paper Mache and all original.
Their clothes are of silk and beautifully embroidered. The man has a head covering with a metal disk on his forehead.
The woman appears to have real hair in bangs and two braids. Their faces are hand-painted and the detail of both, the modeling and painting is exquisite.

The clothes have a slight
discoloration. Please check the photos for all condition details.
China is written on the bottom of each slipper.
Also, the back story is that this couple was given to Jeanne Snyder by her Grandmother, Lillie Prestowitz.
I am not certain of the age of these two, but very similar ones were made in the 1930’s. Lillie lived from 1882-1972, Jeanne from 1935-2021.
From Jeanne’s estate, Hellam, York County, Pennsylvania.
