A nice split pair of a very popular ammonite.
This pair measures approximately 1-1/4" across, making it well suited for fossil jewelry applications.
The center on the reverse of each half has been infilled to impart strength.
The surface of each half has been polished to highlight the pattern of this cephalopod's growth chambers.
So, the result is a very nice effect: crisp clean chambers spiraling down to a tiny center.
These would make a very nice addition to your fossil collection. They are great just as they are!
    See my pics.
This ammonite fossils measures approximately 1-1/4" across.
Total weight of both halves: about 19.3 grams.
Photos taken indoors. You can see how well polished these are by the light reflecting in their surface.
